When to begin treatment

Visiting Solas Orthodontics from the age of 7 will allow Dr O’Connor to monitor your child’s jaw and teeth development to begin treatment at the right time.

Do I need a referral for my child to see a specialist orthodontist?

No! You don’t need a referral from your doctor or dentist to make an appointment with Dr O’Connor. You’re welcome to bring previous scans, however, we have X-ray and 3D scanner facilities on site for your convenience.

How frequently does my child need to see the doctor?

Depending on treatment and case, children may need to visit every 1 to 2 months for up to a year.

Can my child play sport during early treatment?

Yes, personalised mouthguards are available for all early treatment patients.

Where is Solas Orthodontics located?

Will Medicare cover the cost of my child’s braces?
